John is an equity partner and the head of Retail Services  at Cushman & Wakefield. He has specialised in the retail sector for the last 35 years, handling leasing, sale and acquisition, valuation, rent review and other professional work, and development consultancy in connection with high street shopping, retail parks and shopping centres.

Directly involved with more than 50 shopping centre and retail park developments throughout the UK and in recent years has also advised on several shopping centres in countries around the world including Italy, Spain, France, Russia, India and China.

Headed the team which advised on the development of the Bull Ring in Birmingham,  Liverpool One and Xanadu in Madrid.

He has travelled extensively throughout North America, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe to visit and study Shopping Centre developments.

He has advised a number of European and US retailers on aspects of their national and international expansion and rationalisation programmes.

President of British Council of Shopping Centres in 2006 and Chaired its Conference in 2000.
